ADULT BOOK CLUBS Alhambra Page Turners The Alhambra Page Turners is the weekly book club offered by Adult Literacy services those who love good books, and good conversation. This group was formed in the summer of 2002 after several tutors and volunteers in the Literacy program had expressed a strong interest in book clubs and the new desire for books and reading that Oprah and others had ignited, and the Page Turners were born. The very first book that the group read was the Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood because the movie was being released shortly. This gave the group the opportunity to compare the book to the movie. In ten years the Alhambra’s Page Turner’s have read contemporary, classic, mysteries, science fiction, historical fiction, and nonfiction novels. May Book Club
