LITERACY TUTORS

You can make a difference - Teach someone to read and write!

VOLUNTEERING
Volunteer tutors are paired one on one with an adult learner. The schedule is set in agreement between the tutor and the learner.

TIME COMMITMENT
Tutors are expected to devote at least 3 hours per week for a minimum of 6 months. Tutors and learners are considered partners. Often the partners work together a year or more.

TRAINING
We hold a 15 hour training workshop for our tutors. This training is in accordance with that prescribed by Laubach Literacy Action. Each month we hold a Tutor Reunion; all tutors are encouraged to attend (2 per year are mandatory). The program is a topic of interest for further training and an opportunity to have a group discussion of problems a tutor may be having and how best to solve them.

Contact us at (626) 570-3281 for more information.

Literacy Tutors can submit monthly reports here. Please include your name, learner's name, and total monthly hours.
