Information for Parents

The Children's Department can be reached directly during regular Library hours at (626) 570-3215.

SUPERVISION POLICY

You and your children are always encouraged to use the Library. The following guidelines are provided with the safety and well-being of your child in mind.

  • Children under the age of 9 MUST be accompanied by an adult; it is strongly recommended that children age 9-13 also be accompanied by an adult. Library staff are often busy and CANNOT be responsible for the safety of any child left unattended in the Library. Siblings under the age of 18 are not a substitute for adult supervision.
  • Children who misbehave will be required to leave the Library. If the child is not accompanied by an adult the Alhambra Police Department Youth Services Division may be called for assistance.
  • The Alhambra Police Department may be called if a child is left unattended when the Library closes.

We appreciate your cooperation in helping the Library provide a safe, comfortable facility for children to use. Working together, parents and staff, we can provide the best service possible for the children of our community.
